Ingredients
  

For the Cake:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Frosting:
  • cups unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 –4 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
For Decoration:
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Edible flowers
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Festive sprinkles
  • Powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two round cake pans.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk, alternating between them until the batter is smooth.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for approximately 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
  10. Beat the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
  11. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread frosting over the top.
  12. Add the second layer and cover the cake with the remaining frosting.
  13. Decorate with fresh berries, edible flowers, chocolate decorations, and festive sprinkles.
  14. Chill the cake briefly before serving for the best presentation.
